Sycamore

Sycamore is a hardwood comprised mostly of light tan, sometimes white, sapwood with darker reddish brown heartwood. On quartersawn surfaces, Sycamore produces very distinct ray flecks, making a beautiful material. Its interlocking grain can make it hard to plane, but sycamore cuts, sands and finishes well. It is a poor choice for steam bending but holds up well to constant wear, making it a common wood choice for drawer sides. Sycamore also turns and bores well but does tend to warp while drying when plain sawn. Overall sycamore is a beautiful wood and produces stunning live edge slabs. Our current inventory features many sycamore boards and slabs that are dried and ready to ship worldwide.
